The defining part of the Durian Matahari is its picture perfect yellow pulp. Accompanied with a wonderful taste that includes a slight amount of bitterness, just perfect to not overwhelm. The Durian Matahari is beautiful and rich, a result of decades of growing undisturbed in the Malaysian Forest. The flavour reflects the same depth: complex, and distinctive.
Matahari means Sun – and the name earns itself the moment you have sight on one. The Orang Asli Harvesters believe these deep yellow pulp variants is a direct product of old trees, undisturbed soil, and the kind of slow, natural growth that commercial farming attempts to replicate. Some of these trees are planted by the harvesters parents or grandparents themselves, providing a small token of history in every bite.
